to MisFit Kennels. We are a small, family owned kennel located in Mebane, NC.
We started in Australian Cattle Dogs in 2002 but the love for the breed started
many years before that. Robbie lived in Oklahoma for several years in the early
1980's. There he worked with horses and cattle on a daily basis. These "Blue"
dogs were better than 2 or 3 men when it came to working livestock. We used these
dogs daily. They just became part of the family.
Rhonda started in the dog world in the early 1980's
with Akitas and Shiba Inu's. She bred and raised some of the top show dogs of
that time. Descendants from those early dogs are still being shown today.
 We
got into Cattle Dogs in 2002 with the purchase of a birthday present for Amanda.
She wanted a dog and we looked for an ACD for her. When we found "Mick"
he was purchased as her birthday present. When he started growing up we saw that
he moved pretty well, he had a great head, and was put together well. We took
him to a few shows and he did very well. He finished his championship in October
2003. From there, we purchased several dogs to better our program. We met Benny
Kinley and bought 2 females from him. Dr.K's Carolina
Cowgirl and Dr.K's Blue By You. Searching
for other lines led us to Joyce and Rebekka Redden of Reddenblu Kennels. We were
fortunate enough to get Reddenblu's Look Again.
Lincoln was a great addition to our kennel. Lincoln has the movement, temperment,
and type that  allowed
him to finish his championship undefeated.
We have a great start in the breed. When and if
we decide upon a breeding it will be well thought out and planned to better what
we already have and the breed. We will go to whatever lengths are necessary to
find the right stud for our bitches and not simply use a dog because it is owned
by us or conveniently located as so many breeders seem to do. All of our dogs
are in the process of having all testing done. No breeding will ever take place
without all the necessary tests being done.
